Our School
Samuel Gilbert Public School is in the Hills District, nestled in the stunning, leafy surrounds of Castle Hill. The school is set on beautiful grounds, with natural bushland and plentiful outdoor spaces and provides a dynamic, creative and supportive learning environment in which students are able to access outstanding learning opportunities to excel, enjoy and experience. Our school promotes the success of every student through quality teaching and learning, inclusive wellbeing practices and effective partnerships.
Samuel Gilbert Public School is supported by a highly committed and interested community who work in partnership with the teaching staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for each student.
Our school maintains an inclusive culture that encourages students to develop resilience, respect, empathy and safe behaviours.
Our P&C
SGPS P&C is a registered not-for-profit association consisting of parents, carers, teachers and members of the community.
We explore topics surrounding school life, fundraising and our community in an attempt to further develop and enhance the facilities, opportunities and resources our children have at school. We organise events and oversee the operation of the Uniform Shop, School Canteen and School Bands, along with other endeavours, for the purpose of raising funds and providing a quality service to the school. The proceeds of our fundraising initiatives are primarily targeted towards enhancing the academic, social, emotional and physical well-being of our students. Additionally, we endeavour to empower parents and carers with information and knowledge to better support their children's education, growth and development at Samuel Gilbert Public School.
We aim to promote an inviting, inclusive, cohesive and engaged community and to foster a positive working relationship with the School Executive.
We typically meet the second Tuesday of every month during school terms. Meetings are hybrid, held in the school library and online, and begin at 7.30pm. All members of our community are welcome. For more information and a calendar of meetings, see the P&C website.
Fete Message from the School
It's exciting to have the Great Fete back this year. This event is not only a highlight for the Samuel Gilbert students and families but also for the wider community, who come together for a day of fun and enjoyment.
This year we have a fabulous combination of traditional stalls such as the Upcycle Stall, Lucky Dip and the Cake Stall to name a few, through to rides and activities for the kids and a variety of market stalls for the adults - the Samuel Gilbert Great Fete has something for everyone!
We look forward to sharing the day with you.

Fete Message from the P&C
Thanks to all of our parents, volunteers, school staff and local businesses helping to prepare for the 2023 Great Fete at Samuel Gilbert Public School! The first Great Fete in 5 years, this year promises to bring the whole community together as in years past. As in previous years, the event involves the whole community, with local businesses, families and the school all playing a huge role in its success.
The Great Fete is a fun, friendly and exciting day that has attracted thousands of visitors to our school grounds. This year promises to be a return to the traditions loved by all who have experienced this amazing event.
In previous years, fundraising from the Great Fete has helped the school to purchase white boards, learning materials, computing equipment and software, air conditioning and other resources and infrastructure. Samuel Gilbert is a growing school, and there is now, more than ever, a need for us to rally as a community to provide the vital resources that our children and the school staff need to develop future-focused learners.
Thank you to the school community and the broader community for your support. To find out how you can be a part of this amazing day in 2023, please contact us, or see how you can get involved.
